A gift from Jérôme Ferrer
$50,500 remitted to the Fondation Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau
On Tuesday, November 29, 2011, renowned chef Jérôme Ferrer invited guests to the BIRKS Café par Europea for a cocktail dinner in support of the Fondation Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau. For the second consecutive year, more than 250 guests converged on the café to sample gastronomic treats while contributing to the cause of children with cancer.
Thanks to their generosity, the impressive sum of $50,500 was remitted to Mr. Pierre Bruneau, the spokesperson for the Fondation.
On this special evening, famous French chef Marc Meneau - who was passing through Quebec - accepted an invitation from Jérôme Ferrer to prepare som signature treats from his cuisine, much to the delight of the guests. Joël Legendre was called upon to serve as host, and he did a remarkable job throughout the evening. Several public fugures were in attendance, among them actor Paul Doucet as well as television personalities Francis Reddy, Gino Chouinard, Réjean Léveillé and Simon Durivage. Marie-Ève Janvier and Jean-François Breau, for their part, gave a memorable musical performance, presenting six songs from their repertoire.
We're pleased to report that the Jérôme Ferrer event will be held again in 2012.
