Hyundai Hope On Wheels Donates $100,000 to Fondation Charles-Bruneau to Advance Pediatric Cancer Research
October 26, 2026
Through its Hope On Wheels program, Hyundai Canada is donating $100,000 to Fondation Charles-Bruneau to support pediatric cancer research in Quebec. This generous contribution is part of the Foundation’s $50 million commitment to accelerating scientific progress and giving children with cancer the best possible chances of recovery.
A Symbolic Ceremony Bringing Families Together
On October 22, Hyundai Canada and Fondation Charles-Bruneau gathered at the Hyundai Ste-Foy dealership in Quebec City to celebrate this generous contribution with a special donation announcement and handprint ceremony.
The event brought together representatives from Hyundai Canada and Fondation Charles-Bruneau, Dr. Bruno Michon, pediatric hematologist-oncologist at CHU de Québec-Université Laval, and families whose children receive care at the Unité d’hémato-oncologie pédiatrique Charles-Bruneau.
Among those in attendance were the families of Samy, Rose and Louis, who took part in this special morning.
The children were invited to leave their colourful handprints on a Hyundai vehicle, a symbolic gesture at the heart of the Hope On Wheels program that serves as a reminder of who drives this commitment and why research must continue to move forward.
A Donation Supporting a $50 Million Commitment
In September 2025, Fondation Charles-Bruneau announced a historic $50 million commitment over five years to support innovative research projects and a scholarship program across Quebec’s four university-affiliated pediatric hospitals.
Of this amount, $5.3 million is dedicated to research projects at CHU de Québec-Université Laval. These investments support the exploration of new approaches to better understand pediatric cancers, develop more precise treatments and reduce long-term side effects.
For families whose children receive care at the Charles-Bruneau Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Unit at CHU de Québec-Université Laval, these scientific advances are much more than discoveries. They mean new treatment options and better prospects for their children.
By renewing its support for Fondation Charles-Bruneau, Hyundai Canada is contributing to a collective effort that is essential to giving research teams the resources they need to keep pushing scientific progress forward.
A heartfelt thank you to Hyundai Canada, its Hope On Wheels program, and everyone who helped make this day so meaningful for the families in attendance.
