We’re stacking all the odds in Samy’s favour.
In January 2025, Samy was diagnosed with B-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma. Treatment began, and the whole family’s daily life was turned upside down.
The diagnosis
From the time of his diagnosis, Samy had access to genomic sequencing to help better understand the unique features of his cancer. This analysis examines the genetic characteristics of the disease, a concrete example of the advances made possible by research today.
Everyday life
His mother, Marianne, shares their story. “Today, Samy is still undergoing treatment, but we can already think about the day when all of this will be behind us. He talks about what he wants to do, about his dreams. He wants to go back to daycare full-time and eat sushi. These are simple things, but to us, they mean so much. They represent life beyond cancer.”
Research
For his mom, these advances take on their full meaning when she thinks about what comes next. “Research is what allows me to look at Samy and imagine his future beyond the next treatment.”
