Video: Volkswagen's Wishwagen
During the 24h of Tremblant, Volkswagen decided to create the Wishwagen, a recording studio where participants were invited to dedicate warmful encouragements to 25 children that are presently battling cancer at the Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau at CHU Sainte-Justine. More info »
24h of Tremblant: The 11th edition raises $1,832,000 for sick children
To the delight of children, families, beneficiary foundations and thousands of spectators, the 2011 edition of Tremblant’s 24h of Skiing is another success. The event, which attracted a large number of participants for its 11th edition of Tremblant's 24h of Skiing and its 4th edition of the 24h NRJ Walk raised collectively $1,832,200. More info »
 
The Fondation Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau's ski team raised $33,931
Composed of Paul Doucet, six business women and six teenagers, including four that are presently in remission of a cancer, the Foundation's team raised the amount of $33,931 for the 24h of Tremblant. To a thunderous round of applause, the young Raphaëlle Forget, presently in remission of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, completed the last descent of the 11th edition. At age 14, Raphaëlle was very proud to accomplish this challenge with her older sister Marion, who also decided to participate as a member of the team. The Foundation wishes to warmly thank all the members of the team for their committment and this great success.
Gene responsible for relapses in young leukemia patients
One of the causes of resistance to cancer treatment in children is now beginning to be elucidated. Acute lymphoblastic leukemia patients with a particular form of the ATF5 gene are at higher risk of having a relapse when treated with E. coli asparaginase, a key chemo-therapy drug for this type of leukemia. Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau

The Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau at CHU Sainte-Justine opened its doors on January 21, 1995. It serves the entire population of Quebec and allows more than 1,100 children with cancer to benefit from the best care available.
