An unforgettable 29th Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau: $3,750,000 net raised for a childhood without cancer

On July 4, the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau family gathered in Boucherville to bring the 29th edition of this flagship event for pediatric cancer research to a close. After cycling up to 550 kilometers, nearly 750 cyclists crossed the finish line with hearts filled with emotion and pride.
Thanks to the exceptional mobilization of more than 1,000 participants, hundreds of volunteers, committed partners, and thousands of donors, the Charles-Bruneau Foundation is proud to announce that $3,750,000 net was raised—exceeding the $3.5 million goal. Since its inception, the Tour has raised over $53 million to provide better chances of recovery for children with cancer in Quebec.
An edition marked by a historic breakthrough
The 2025 edition will be remembered, in particular for the announcement of the Signature Project, a major scientific breakthrough made possible by the donations collected. This innovative project aims to establish the genetic signature of pediatric cancers across Quebec, thereby enabling each young patient to receive personalized treatment. The Ministry of Health and Social Services and Santé Québec’s coverage of these analyses makes Quebec a world leader in genomic sequencing in pediatric oncology.
Inspiring young heroes and heroines
This year, five young heroes and heroines proudly represented the different routes of the Tour, generously sharing their stories:
- Rosalie, 12 years old – 4-day route starting in Trois-Rivières and 1 day starting in Drummondville
- Flora, 3 years old – 3-day route starting in Quebec City and 2 days starting in Victoriaville
- Charlotte, 11 years old – 2-day route starting in Sherbrooke and 1 day starting in Saint-Hyacinthe
- Mathis, age 4 – Discovery route (80 and 50 km)
- Liam, age 7 – remote route
Their presence touched the hearts of the cyclists, reminding everyone of the importance of the Foundation’s mission.
A collective effort supported by dedicated partners
The Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau would not be possible without the support of loyal and dedicated partners. CIBC, IGA, RONA, and Cascades have once again demonstrated their commitment to making a difference in children’s lives. Their involvement, along with that of the 200 volunteers and 270 supporters who participated in the fundraising effort, is essential to the success of the event.

Thank you to everyone
“Thanks to the involvement of thousands of people, the Charles-Bruneau Foundation has been able to fund a project that makes genomic sequencing accessible to all young people with cancer in Quebec. This is huge. Thank you to all the cyclists, donors, volunteers, and partners for teaming up with us for a childhood without cancer,” said Pierre Bruneau, founder and spokesperson for the Foundation.
