CHU Ste-Justine highlights the $21.3 million donation from the Charles-Bruneau Foundation

On November 26, 2025, the Charles-Bruneau Foundation had the privilege of being invited to CHU Sainte-Justine to celebrate a major milestone in its history: a new five-year, $21.3 million commitment to the hospital, dedicated to advancing care, supporting families, and conducting research in pediatric immuno-hemato-oncology.

This inspiring event provided a concrete measure of the impact of the Charles-Bruneau Foundation’s support. Each exchange and each project presented served as a reminder of the power of collective work and its direct effect on the journey of children with cancer and their families.

At the heart of this commitment, the Signature Québec project continues and amplifies decisive advances in precision medicine. By refining diagnoses, identifying genetic abnormalities, and facilitating access to targeted therapies, it positions Québec as a leader, particularly through the deployment of triple clinical sequencing at the time of diagnosis. The 2025-2030 phase aims to integrate this approach into every stage of the care pathway, accelerate diagnoses, and better respond to recurrent or refractory cancers.

The Foundation also supports the deployment of the Quebec psychosocial oncology platform, which places quality of life, mental health, and the needs of families at the heart of research and care, as well as the expansion of the VIE Québec Program, which focuses on preventing long-term sequelae by promoting healthy lifestyles from the moment of diagnosis.

Finally, the Charles-Bruneau scholarship program prepares the next generation of scientists and clinicians by strengthening the expertise of healthcare teams and ensuring the continued excellence of pediatric oncology in Quebec.

Through this ambitious commitment, the Foundation reaffirms its deep conviction that transforming care requires collaboration and research rooted in the real needs of children.
