Inauguration of Espace Mieux-Être Québecor at CHU Sainte-Justine’s Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau

The Fondation Charles-Bruneau was proud to inaugurate Espace Mieux-Être Québecor at CHU Sainte-Justine’s Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau on January 30, 2020.

This new facility will make it possible to develop innovative and personalized care and services adapted to the realities of patients in pediatric hematology and oncology. Espace Mieux-Être Québecor features a functional kitchen, a gymnasium in two sections for rehabilitation, and a lounge for parents, a short distance from clinical services in order to ensure patient safety.

The Fondation Charles-Bruneau is pleased to recognize Québecor’s generous pledge to donate $2.5 million. This donation will allow the Fondation to pursue its important mission on behalf of Québec children with cancer.

Mr. Pierre Bruneau, the founder and spokesman for the Fondation, was present at the inauguration, accompanied by Mr. Pierre Karl Péladeau, President and Chief Executive Officer of Québecor, and Ms. Caroline Barbir, President and Chief Executive Officer of CHU Sainte-Justine.

“What a pleasure it is for the Fondation Charles-Bruneau to be given this opportunity today to recognize Québecor’s generosity and significant support for pediatric cancer. On behalf of the Fondation, I’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Québecor, which has supported us from the very outset of this dream of a childhood without cancer. Like the Fondation Charles-Bruneau, Québecor is the story of a family. When this company gets behind a cause, it does so with heart and dedicates itself to promoting that cause. I am proud to see Québecor’s name adorn the walls of the Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau,” said Pierre Bruneau.

“I’d also like to thank our generous donors, who help our young patients thrive within our walls in spite of the disease,” said Ms. Caroline Barbir, President and Chief Executive Officer of CHU Sainte-Justine.

“Year after year, Québecor’s entire extended family gets involved with the Fondation Charles-Bruneau in an effort to contribute to research in pediatric oncology and improve the care offered. The needs in health are considerable, and as a company, we have a responsibility to do our part. We’re therefore pleased to be here today for the opening of this new space, which will allow young patients to feel a little more at home. This is a further demonstration of the admirable work done by the teams at the Fondation and CHU Sainte-Justine,” said Pierre Karl Péladeau, President and Chief Executive Office of Québecor.
